Follow along as we learn together.

Our Farming Journey

We're farming on 3.5 acres with the goal of building a regenerative food forest to support our family, friends and community. We're learning as we go.

Urban Homesteading

A few canning, drying and fermenting projects I've been working on using the abundance of our local summer provisions.

Drying marigolds for tea leaves - from here into the dehydrator.

First batch of my Oregon grape jelly, harvested from a schoolyard nearby.

We buy raw milk and yogurt from a local farm. I like to make labneh from the yogurt, to use as cream cheese spread on my sourdough bagels. Yum.

Buying organic whole chickens from Costco is a cost-effective way to make a quick dinner and then put up chicken stock in the pantry. It takes a while longer to can the stock rather than freeze it, but I find it SO convenient to have canned stock on hand whenever I need it.
